This session will begin with a recounting of the Bracero Program, an historical guest worker which enabled Mexican laborers to work in the US, focusing on occupational health and social issues. This will be followed by a comparison of the Bracero Program and the current system of labor migration from Mexico and how this system circumscribes the occupational safety and health of immigrant workers today.
