Dr. Alya Khan serves as a public health medical officer in the Hazard Evaluation System and Information Service of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Occupational Health Branch and Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. Prior to joining CDPH, she served as the director of the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency Program at UC Irvine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine from Hackensack UMC Mountainside and Occupational Medicine from University of California, Irvine, and holds dual board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Preventive Medicine. In addition, she holds a Master's degree in Environmental Toxicology from the University of California, Irvine. She is a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Chair for ACOEM's Council of Education and Academic Affairs. In addition, she is a member of the CDC World Trade Center Health Program Scientific/Technical Advisory Committee and a member of the ABPM Longitudinal Assessment Program OEM writing subcommittee. Her passion includes providing up-to-date, valuable educational offerings for the OEM community and spending time with her family.
